Roy Kern has been with ECA for more than 30 years, 18 of which were spent as President and CEO. Educated at Penn State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering followed by an MBA from Cornell University, he worked summers in ECA’s Pittsburgh shop as a laborer and mechanic’s helper and then started his career as a Financial Analyst in Chicago. Roy returned to ECA and his hometown of Pittsburgh in 1986 and took on the role of Sales Engineer, learning the business and technologies in the field.
ECA has grown to 9 locations and become the premier supplier of foundation equipment in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast and Eastern Canadian regions of North America under Roy’s leadership.
Always a proponent of the foundation construction Industry, Roy has given back by serving with board positions on Associated Equipment Distributors [AED], AED Foundation [AEDF], The International Association of Foundation Drilling [ADSC] and the International Advancement Fund [IAF]. He was also Chairman of the AEDF and ADSC’s Associate Members Committee Chairman/Excomm Committee member.
